Our History

Dr. Bruce R. McCune and Dr. Landon E. Weeks founded Diagnostic Imaging, Inc. in 1978 when they opened the first outpatient ultrasound imaging center in Winston-Salem. Drs. McCune and Weeks first became interested in ultrasound while completing a Gastroenterology Fellowship at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. During their fellowship they researched the benefits and use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of many gastroenterology related problems. As a result, they published extensively on the use of ultrasound, and North Carolina Baptist Hospital certified them to perform and to interpret ultrasound studies.

Upon Completion of their medical training and subsequent to entering private practice, Forsyth Memorial Hospital asked them to establish and become the directors of the hospital's first ultrasound laboratory. Drs. McCune and Weeks, along with their associate, Dr. C. Randolph McMurchy, continue to interpret ultrasound studies at Forsyth Memorial Hospital.
